Empowering People and Communities
Working within the framework of schools and sports settings we are able to share knowledge, resources and skills all with a view to empowering people to live more sustainably.
We focus on the three areas of life that make up 80% of everybody’s personal (and every organisation’s) carbon footprint: Energy, Transport and Food - how we power ourselves, how we travel and what we eat... and our fourth pillar is making room for nature.
We provide data, insight and information to enable the changes that need to be made - in pursuit of a truly green Britain.
Established in 2012 by philanthropist, environmentalist and advocate for a sustainable Britain, Dale Vince, the Green Britain Foundation is a charity which exists to fulfil its organisational priorities.
The Green Britain Foundation runs and supports a diverse range of initiatives, from sustainable education and sport, to land and marine conservation - and animal protection, all aimed at empowering people to live more sustainably. Alongside this, the Foundation backs research, legal challenges, and investigations that seek to address harmful practices and drive progress towards a greener Britain.
To inspire positive change and create a more sustainable future by reducing the climate impact of energy, transport and food, as well as making space for nature.
We are intentional
We are proactive in promoting environmental responsibility, while advocating for social and climate justice for all.
We are educational
We raise awareness and educate about the importance of sustainable practices and environmental protection.
We are collaborative
We cannot realise a truly, Green Britain on our own. We work with community groups, NGO’s, policy makers, businesses, individuals and other organisations to create a collective effort towards a greener future.
The work of the Green Britain Foundation focuses on a number of priorities which are rooted in our commitments to energy, transport, food and nature to create a greener Britain. We are immensely proud of our work and all we are achieving in partnership with others who share our vision.
Working within the framework of schools and sports settings we are able to share knowledge, resources and skills all with a view to empowering people to live more sustainably.
The Green Britain Foundation is committed to making space for nature. Our work here focuses on restoration, conservation and sustainable practices to enhance ecosystem resilience and human wellbeing.
We support movements and campaigns, we share knowledge and advocate for effective policies. We believe that climate justice is only achievable with social justice.
